For four years, Ms. Rowe* went without healthcare.
Like many caregivers, she put her own needs aside to care for her disabled mother. The small stipend she received made it impossible to afford health insurance, leaving her to manage serious health challenges on her own.
During that time, Ms. Rowe’s condition worsened. She lives with severe degenerative disc disease, bone spurs in her neck, limited mobility in her left leg, and carpal tunnel causing constant pain in her hands and feet. Everyday tasks became more difficult, and without access to care, her options were limited.
When Ms. Rowe connected with JaxCareConnect, everything began to change.
Our team worked with her to understand her needs and quickly connected her to care through Duval Family Health Center. From there, she was able to continue her care and ultimately gain Medicaid coverage, opening the door to consistent, long-term support.
After years without help, Ms. Rowe finally has access to the care she needs to manage her health and improve her quality of life.
Her words say it best:
“I can think of only two people who have gone out of their way for me, and you are the first. I never forget who was there and was kind enough to help, so it truly means a lot.”
Ms. Rowe’s story is a reminder that behind every referral is a real person. Someone who has been waiting, often for years, for a chance to be seen and supported.
At JaxCareConnect, we are honored to stand alongside clients like Ms. Rowe as they take that first step back to care.
