It’s World Hepatitis Day. A day that brings “the world together under a single theme to raise awareness of the global burden of viral hepatitis and to influence real change”. In honor of World Hepatitis Day, JaxCareConnect would like to take this time to highlight one of our amazing community partners, CAN Community Health, and the way they are helping communities fight against hepatitis C and other viruses and diseases.
CAN Community Health’s mission “is to inspire and contribute to the health and well-being of those affected by HIV, hepatitis C, and other sexually transmitted diseases by providing the best care through outreach, integrated clinical practice, advocacy, education, and research”. CAN operates 34 medical clinics across the southern part of the United States – one of them being conveniently located in the same building as JaxCareConnect here in Duval County. At their Jacksonville location, the CAN clinic offers services like pharmacy access, STD/STI testing and care, dental, patient care coordination, labs, transportation and housing assistance, support groups, and telehealth services.
Here is Duval County, CAN Community Health is increasing access to health care for those who need it most. Although they accept most insurances, they also see anyone, regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay – one of the many reasons we love partnering with them. If you or anyone you know needs access to STD or STI testing and care, CAN Community Health is a great resource. Call (904) 508-0710 or visit their website at https://www.cancommunityhealth.org/.
With that being said, if you or someone you know needs access to primary health care in Duval County, JaxCareConnect can help. Call us at 904-595-7770 or visit our website for more info: https://jaxcareconnect.org.
